He traces “I will” or “I shall” to promises of which forgetfulness is the countervailing forcewhich lead to responsibility, which lead to conscience. Albeit context matters here, I don’t agree with Nietzsche on this one. We appreciate your feedback. I hate to say it, but after I completed the first two essays and compared my notes on his non-ranting part to the Wikipedia article on this book, I found them similar enough to just use that for the third section.
