The main concepts I got from it were to play offense and be active pushing outside of your comfort haugrn and be ready to give it all up for a higher calling. The message in this short book is solid, but I wasn’t as inspired as Like a few other books I’ve read — Interrupted Jen Hatmaker and The Irresistible Revolution Shane Claiborne — this book challenged me to question the status quo of Christian life.
If you feel like God has more in store for your life than your comfortable little life, you need to check this book out.
I hope, then, that you’ll read this book and be convinced that you do carry the weight of God’s glory around with you and ujst do a whole lot with your life, whether that means social justice work or not. I found myself wanting to highlight something on almost every page. I doubt Terrify No More will leave me with as few bruises.
On the other hand I think some of the subtle theological implications are off-base and somewhat misleading, and at times it seems to me that the book was hastily written and constructed; or that Haugen wrote the book well at first but then someone said, “Hey, it should be longer, add some stuff.
