Not good, not bad, not in the gray area. They are just not ineresting, boring, dull. I laughed out loud at times, because of the witty dialogue and the hilarity of some particular events.
Harpagon lako,ec unable to see in himself the shortcomings for which he blames others. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Mais Harpagon n’en a cure. Finished it only because it was the only book I had in the underground and it’s only 80 pages long.
To complicate matters, Elise has fallen in love with the handsome Valere, who masquerades as a servant in the household, despite his noble birth, and, worse yet, Cleante and Harpagon are both smitten with the same woman, the beautiful, if somewhat dim, Lakokec. I think they have nothing else to say except money, money, money! An impressive insight into the lives of families at the time it was written, and the paranoia, isolation and madness such greed can cause.
As a whole, they cheered me so much I didn’t care what happened in the grad classes. Paperback79 pages. The convenient ending could have been done well; I love a play with the same “plot twist”. Una satira e un’ironia esilaranti! The humor was fantastic, and this is coming from a person, who rarely ever laughs while reading. Even with these ,oliere, I still had fun reading this.
My copy of this book is in Romanian. Grandiose, sublime, fou d’avarice. Meanwhile, scheming servants and assorted hustlers angle for Harpagon’s incredible wealth, much of which is now buried and protected by snarling Dobermans.

The aging but vital Harpagon is hoarding every centime he can get his hands on, making sure that his two children, the virginal Elise and the dandy Cleante, live under his iron will. However, it also brought to mind many more serious themes, the most obvious one being miserliness, in other words, greed and the consequences of it.
